Hair growing where you don’t want it to – unsightly and embarrassing?  Get rid of it!  You could shave, pluck, wax, or thread it but laser hair removal treatments offer a longer-lasting solution.

The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery states, “Laser hair removal has become one of the most common cosmetic procedures performed in the United States, ranked second among cosmetic procedures behind Botox injections in frequency of procedures performed.”

Who is it for?  Laser hair removal works for men and women with unsightly hair on their face, chest, back, arms, underarms, bikini area, and legs.  The best results come from light-skinned people with dark hair but there are newer lasers which work on darker skin tones.

What lasers are used and how?  The most common lasers used are Alexandrite, Diode, Neodymium YAG, and Intense Pulsed Light sources.  Some of these lasers have built-in cooling systems but if they don’t a cool gel will be applied to protect the outer layers of the skin.  The technician/esthetician will set the parameters for the session according to your skin and hair colour, the thickness of the hair, the location of the hair, and the energy that’s needed for the treatment.  The technician will apply a laser pulse to the treatment area and then watch for adverse reactions before completing the session.

How does it work?  Laser hair removal works by destroying the hair follicle with a concentrated laser beam.  The laser is attracted to the pigment in the hair, thus destroying the follicle and leaving the surrounding skin undamaged.  The hair from the dead follicle will continue to emerge from the skin but will eventually be sloughed off.  It could take two to four weeks for this to happen but after it does there will be a marked difference in the amount of hair left.  It is important not to pluck or wax the hair during this time so the growth stage isn’t disrupted.  Each subsequent treatment will treat the remaining hair.

How many treatments are needed?  Because hair grows in three stages and the laser beam only destroys the follicle in one of these stages, it’s necessary to have a series of treatments at specific times.  Most patients require between six and twelve treatments with intervals of four to eight weeks in between sessions.  Your professional technician/esthetician should be able to set up your individual schedule during your consultation.

This schedule depends on your skin and hair colour, hair density and thickness, laser type, and location for the treatment.  Areas with thinner skin like the bikini area will lose hair faster than areas with thicker skin like the chin.  Your schedule depends on how fast your hair grows.

The good news is that, unlike electrolysis which only works on single hair follicles, lasers can cover multiple hair follicles which makes the treatments faster and more cost effective.  Each session can last from a few minutes to over an hour depending on the area being treated.

How does it feel?  Laser hair removal can be mildly to moderately painful.  The laser pulses feel like a rubber band snapping or warm pinpricks against the skin.  Applying anesthetic creams 30 to 60 minutes before the procedure can reduce the pain.  Applying ice packs to the treated area and taking pain relief medication before and after the treatment can help relieve the irritation.

It is extremely important to avoid sun exposure after laser hair removal and to use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen with SPF 30 to prevent skin damage.

What about side effects?  There are some to watch out for.  Patients may experience pain, swelling around the hair follicle, or redness and inflammation.  These side effects may last between one and three days.  Some patients may experience blistering, herpes simplex outbreaks, and bacterial infections.  The skin may have temporary changes such as lightening or darkening (especially in patients with darker skin types or tans), loss of freckles, lightening of moles, and tattoo lightening or darkening.  Permanent skin pigment changes or scarring is very rare but can occur.  You must advise your technician/esthetician of any of these side effects so that proper care can be given.

Why should lasers be used over other methods of hair removal?  Lasers are quick because multiple hairs are treated simultaneously.  Lasers are accurate because they only damage the hair follicle and not the surrounding skin.  Laser treatments are relatively painless and there is very little risk of infection since needles aren’t used.

Isn’t laser hair removal expensive?  Sure, the cost of treatments is more expensive than other methods like shaving, waxing, tweezing, and chemical depilation but ultimately you save money because laser hair removal lasts longer than the other methods.  It is also less messy, painful, and irritating.  Clean, bare, silky skin can be yours with laser hair removal.

Most of the NONO Hair Removal reviews you’ll read will confirm that the NONO hair removal system works; however very few will reveal to you exactly what results you can expect – exactly how much excess hair the NONO is able to remove or tell you how much time it will take before you start experiencing these results.

The NO NO Hair Removal System is the leading home hair removal device out there and now that it’s been some time since the brand-new 8800 model was introduced, both scientists and normal people like us have had a proper opportunity to assess the NONO’s effectiveness and we are now able to respond to a question that still comes up:

How Good Truly is the NONO at Eliminating Hair?

I have now been using the NONO for 7 months and it has offered me a speedy, pain-free answer to semi-permanent hair removal at a price basically everyone can handle. For the beginning 3 and a bit months, I used  the NONO on myself three to four times each week and afterwards throughout the 4th month, I decreased my sessions to only a single treatment every week. As soon as I moved into the 5th month I halted all treatment completely and the result was remarkable. I didn’t have any kind of hair growth for more than five weeks! Eventually when my hair did start to return, it was significantly finer compared to before and was instantly eliminated with a quick NONO treatment. The small number of alternative NO NO hair removal reviews that do go into a little more detail regarding the successes they received also had a very similar experience to this.

This is All Because of the Power of Thermicon.

Thermicon technology is what gives the NO NO Hair Removal System its high performance. Thermicon hair removal therapy is completely revolutionary because it doesn’t need to attack the melanin throughout the hair’s shaft like laser hair removal treatments do and this permits people with red, gray, blond or whte hair pigmentation plus persons with dark or tanned complexion to easily run the NO NO without the chance of scolding themselves. This makes the NO NO the very first hair removal solution that is universally open to everyone. Getting rid of unwanted hair is no more an exclusive club; it’s now available to all.

Hair Removal Which Lasts…And Lasts.

Most NO NO Hair Removal reviews share that idea that if you use the NONO as instructed you will normally see a decrease in bodily hair which lasts between seven to ten weeks. Once the stubble finally returns, you just retreat yourself once with the NONO and…you’re done! Whoever heard of additional treatment sessions that only take a couple of minutes! The greatest part of this is, you’ll only need to do this each 1 – 2 months. The NONO will save you the problems and suffering of waxing and gets rid of every single unwelcome hair in a matter of minutes.

For a Saturday night out, you can have a comfortable solution to your undesireable body hair which is very user friendly and best of all, continues to work over time.

You are at the mall shopping and spot this amazing little outfit that has Òyour name on itÓ. It is a cute little skirt and top set in your favorite color. There is just one little problem. Your legs…they are hairier than an ape’s. The crazy thing is, you JUST shaved them. Will the craziness ever end?

Yup. It’s that time again. Time to shave your hairy legs. It sure does get old fast, doesn’t it? In this day and age, you would think there would be a better solution out there to this VERY old problem of excess hair growth than…shaving. Seems so barbaric to run a sharp razor over your skin to remove the hair. The problem is that it grows back so darn fast, it’s almost not even worth it.

If you are used to using a razor, waxing, electrolysis, or Nair hair remover, you really should look into some of the new things out there. Those ÒoldÓ ways worked pretty well, but if you are looking for hair removal that keeps your hair gone for even longer, while being much easier to do, then those old ways just won’t cut the mustard. You also don’t want to be stuck with the usual ingrown hairs, shaving rashes, and bumps these older methods usually give you, right? I didn’t think so.

The great news is that there are many new ways available today to get rid of your unwanted leg, arm, or even facial hair. There really are hair removal treatments that really do work…the first time.

The most exciting new technology today for hair removal is called IPL hair removal, and it has many features that the other hair removal treatments can’t even compare to.

So what is IPL hair removal?

IPL stands for intense pulsed light. By using this new technology, you can safely and quickly remove body hair. It penetrates the top layer of skin with a special kind of light wavelength that will kill the hair follicle…dead! There is a heat that won’t hurt you, but will destroy the hair in it’s growth phase so it will never again see the light of day.

IPL hair removal is one of the safest ways to get rid of your excess hair, but you really need to use a qualified IPL therapist to get the best (and safest) treatment. If you have dark hair and light skin, you would be considered the ultimate client, since that is the best coloring to remove most of your hair in the fastest possible way.

The IPL hair removal system uses a machine called the Lumina. It is a very high powered machine that allows an incredible amount of flexibility to treat all kinds of body hair from tiny areas like eyebrows to larger areas of the body like the back or even full leg treatments.

Is IPL hair removal right for me?

If you have excess hair that you are desperate to permanently get rid of, and have darker hair coloring, with lighter skin coloring, then IPL hair removal may be a perfect solution to your excess hair problem. There are a few other things you should be aware of before hopping in your car and getting your IPL treatment done.

A consultation is really the best way for a technician to see you in person and get a good ÒfeelÓ for how the IPL hair removal treatment would benefit your specifically. They would do a patch test to see just how well your hair responds to the treatment. Even if you have olive colored skin, you can still be treated as long a your hair coloring is a different shade of color than your skin.

What does it feel like?

It feels similar to a little rubber band flicking against your skin. It lasts for just a moment, and only gives you a little discomfort that quickly fades away.

How should I prepare?

The best way to prepare for your IPL hair removal treatment is to avoid the sun. You also want to avoid the sun for a few weeks afterwards, and stay away from using any fake tans either. You’ll want to avoid waxing, bleaching, or even tweezing your hair for a full month before treatment.

So if you are sick and tired of shaving and waxing off your body hair, you may want to look into IPL hair removal. It may truly be the answer to your excess body hair prayers.

It’s never easy when nature has provided you with unwanted hairs, but there is a solution. It is possible to get rid of the hairs, permanently in some cases, providing you choose the right method for removal.

However, if you’re not sure which option is right for you, this guide should provide some useful information…

Bleaching – technically not hair removal, but a quick process that involves chemicals being used to remove the hair’s pigment and make them less visible.

Tweezing – good for the odd hair that is causing you discomfort, but due to the time it takes, it’s probably not suitable for larger patches of hair.

Razor – quick and easy, but not always the most effective as it only removes the hair on the surface of the skin, rather than below.

Electric shaver – another quick method of hair removal is to use an electric shaver, however it will only get rid of visible hair and is only a temporary measure.

Hair removing gloves – often used between waxing or shaving sessions, they exfoliate the skin while removing any leftover hairs.

Waxing – one of, if not the, most popular hair removal techniques that comes with option of being performed by yourself at home or by a beautician at a salon. However, not everyone wants hot wax applied to their more sensitive areas, and the removal of the strips is famously quite painful.

Sugar waxing – paste is applied to the are you want to remove hair from, strips are applied and then pulled off – much like with waxing, except without the hot wax – however, it is still considered to be one of the more painful methods on the market.

Electrolysis – the process involves applying a current to a metal probe that is then pushed through the area where there is unwanted hair. Although slow, electrolysis does kill off the area near to the hair follicles, which stops the hair from growing back.

Laser hair removal – an extremely effective procedure that targets only the hair follicles, meaning that (unlike electrolysis) no skin cells are damaged. The process is almost permanent, although may require multiple sessions for the top results.

Unwanted hair growth in some areas of our body or face can be very embarrassing sometimes. This can be a huge turn off to anyone. For instance, facial hair growth can easily make women very uncomfortable.

This hair can be removed with a variety of hair removal methods. Laser hair removal is a well known method for permanently removing hair in almost any area of the face and body, including the upper lip, cheeks, shoulders, chest, back, stomach, arms, hands, legs, bikini line and intimate areas.

Today’s technology makes it possible to treat all hair types, even blonde hair, which has previously been difficult to treat.

You can start by consulting a laser hair removal consultant. This is will enable you to find answers to all your questions.  A consultation is often free and a great opportunity to gather as much information as possible. However, if you decide to go ahead with the treatment the price is determined by different factors, such as the amount of hair and how many areas are being treated. During the consultation session you may get an idea of how much the laser treatments cost.

One of the most important things to remember when you go for a consultation is not to shave the hair you want to get rid of before your consultation, as the specialist will need to make an assessment of the hair structure, colour and density. No tanning of any kind, two weeks before and after a treatment is recommended.

A treatment can take anywhere from 20 minutes to a few hours depending on the size of area to be treated.

The pain experienced varies, but in general the treatment is not painful. However, if you are still concerned about discomfort during your treatment, ask your clinic about typical anesthetics, which are gels used to numb the skin. You can also take pain killers such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen 15 to 20 minutes before your treatment starts.

Making the proper preparations will ensure that your laser hair removal sessions give you the fabulous results you want. A little bit of preparation goes a long way towards creating a new, beautiful you. Some medicines, such as antibiotics, should not be taken in connection with treatment as they may cause skin irritation.

The number of treatments needed varies, but an average of between 6-8 treatments may be required depending on the hair type. In some cases when the customer has very blonde hair, additional treatments will be necessary.

After about ten days you will begin to see the hairs falling out. Resting hair follicles are not affected, and a few months later, a new treatment will be needed.

Laser hair removal has been studied, tested over many years and is proven to be completely safe without any side effects. Any redness of the skin will disappear within a few hours. Patience is important as laser hair removal is a great option for removing unwanted hair, not just temporarily, but for good.
