$8 Million Backlog Announced by Palomar For LightSheer Diode Laser Hair Removal System

Palomar Medical Technologies announced that it has reached a current backlog of more than $8 million in orders for its LightSheer(TM) Diode laser system for hair removal. "Halfway through the third quarter, our backlog numbers show that orders for this one-of-a-kind product continue to come in at record levels," said Louis P. (Dan) Valente, CEO of Palomar.

"Now that we have increased our monthly manufacturing capacity with newly expanded production space, we intend to ship the majority of this current $8 million backlog by quarter's close on September 30, adding to the $5 million in orders that we have previously shipped this quarter."

At the same time, Valente was looking ahead to even further expansion into Europe, now that the LightSheer Diode Laser has received CE Mark designation. The LightSheer Diode system is the only diode cleared by the FDA for hair removal, and now it is also the only one to have been approved in Europe.
